WHAT IS YOUR FULL NAME?
"What is your full name? " ....
This is among top ten worst questions one can ask at the first interaction. In a conference, I met someone, (HR Professional), quite a good looking lady, working with an MNC at a good position. Since we were sharing the common row in the seating plan, there was a natural interaction which started flowing in. Suddenly, I encountered this question......I answered politely ( rather, I tried to be) 'does it matter?'. I expected that this bouncer question will give her a feel that I did not appreciate this question, but I again encountered one 'I am asking in general'!!!!!
I was amazed by the confidence of the lady professional.
Food for thought: Was this question worth to ask? What does it show? Are we biased yet!!!!!

And you had Luck that she also didn't ask your blood type, if you speak Chinese, believe in fairy tales, and so on..... ....
I know that there are some particularities in India about social issues, here in Brazil let me give you an example of what happens.
When two people are arguing usually the "most important" says to the other: "do you know with who you are talking?" (which means: keep in your insignificance....)
In Europe is exactly the opposite (when talking - arguing - with "civilized" people). They say: "who do you think you are? (which means: every one is equal... theoretically).
And so on. The world is a diversity of cultures, customs and education...... But civilized and educated people, I think that, nowadays, it is almost a global standard, with more or less sophistication, so there are no excuses, in the XXI Century, for such attitudes.....
The Universe always conspires in our favour, it was not to work in that company.....

Mario
